The International Association of Privacy Professionals (IAPP) is looking for a Front End Engineer to join its Technology Team.

Job Summary*

The Front End Engineer maintains and updates the interface on all IAPP web properties, including the website, enterprise applications, and email templates.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities*

*
Maintains web interfaces in keeping with IAPP standards, style and graphic identity, and handles requests for updates and corrections with speed and accuracy

  • Supports engineers within the Technology team by coding HTML, CSS/Sass, and modifying static assets as needed
  • Supports the marketing team and other internal stakeholders with HTML email template creation and modification
  • Tests for cross-browser/device compatibility as part of the testing process prior to deployment
  • Trains non-technical staff on deploying to various IAPP properties as appropriate
  • Research, scope, and propose front-end solutions to address complex business problems
  • Provide ‘build versus buy’ recommendations by evaluating the cost, maintenance, support, and compatibility of potential solutions
  • Design, develop, test, implement, and maintain interfaces, by researching and studying needs and requirements as well as by conferring with users
  • Troubleshoot and resolve issues
  • Analyze and integrate new products/technologies with existing interfaces to improve the design and application functionality
  • Demonstrate solutions by developing documentation, layouts, diagrams, and clear, dry code

Required Skills and Experience*

*
Bachelor's degree (B.S.) in a technical field of study and 3 – 5 years related experience and/or training.; or equivalent combination of education and experience

  • Understanding of basics in engineering such as: Object Oriented Programming, Data Structures, Development Patterns
  • Proficiency with HTML, CSS and Javascript
  • Proficiency with ReactJS – 3 to 5 years
  • Experience with NodeJS, PHP or Angular preferred – 1 to 3 years
  • Knowledge/experience developing cloud native micro-ui’s on platforms such as AWS and Azure
  • Solid problem-solving capabilities, including the ability to disaggregate issues, identify root causes, and recommend solutions
  • Ability to work under pressure and tight deadlines on multiple projects simultaneously
  • Highly proficient written and verbal communication skills

We have a hybrid work environment and are asking applicants to be within a commutable distance to our Portsmouth, NH office.
